Friday, Dave was off work, so we went with two other families to the New Orleans Zoo.  We had a great day and some nice weather.  Reese had a great time, she really enjoyed seeing all the animals and running around the zoo...out of her stroller.

There is also a 22 week pregnancy shot. This baby is really growing fast.  We have searched through my entire name book and cannot come up with any new names that we can both agree on.  For now, his name is going to be Myles (or Miles, still deciding how I like it spelled best) David.  I don't forsee us finding and agreeing on anything else.  We'll see.

Enjoy!

Easter 2009 04/18/2009

We had a really nice, relaxing Easter this year.  The morning started off with Reese coming out and seeing what the Easter Bunny brought her.  Then she went on an egg hunt around the family room. She found all the eggs and there were a lot hidden.

Agnes of course, caused some drama by eatting up all the bunny paw prints!  Reese really got upset over this.  It wouldn't be a day without Agnes being Agnes.

To kill some time between church  the one mexican restaurant in town opened, we decided to drive over to the beach and take a few Easter pictures.  I think Reese and Dave look so sweet together.  Reese loved the beach, it's only her 3rd time to visit.   She was extremely upset when we had to leave.  I forsee lots of beach days in the future.

After lunch, Reese napped, Dave did yardwork and I napped as well.  We always miss getting to spend holidays with family, but I must see, it's nice getting to create our own traditions with Reese.  There is nothing like a day of family time.

And to top off the night, Dave cooked up a wonderful dinner for me.  We are really blessed and I just keep taking it all in!

Enjoy some pictures from our day.

We had a great weekend.  Our friends, Brandy and Roland came in from NYC and spent the weekend with us.  On saturday we went to an airshow at Keesler.  Dave flew the c-21 in the airshow so that was fun for us to see.

Reese thought Daddy was flying every plane in the airshow.  So when the Thunderbirds did a practice fly bye, she started yelling, daddy flies, daddy flies. I just said yeah honey, daddys flying. Why burst her bubble at the young age of two!

I didn't use my brain and put absolutely no sunscreen on my legs or feet. We were out in the sun from 11-4.  Needless to say, half of my legs look like lobsters and hurt like you know what.  I WILL NOT let this happen again.

Reese on the other hand has a beautiful tan. Must be nice!

My stomach has popped out this week. It is very strange. Last week I had nothing and this week you can tell I'm pregnant.

We find out tuesday if it's a boy or girl. I cannot wait to know!! I hope they cooperate so I can put an end to the predicting and Dave and I can get into the battle of the names.

Daves mom, whom I wrote about in the prior blog, is out of the hospital and doing well. Unfortunately, she and Sydney were not able to come out this week as planned.  Bonnie needs to rest up and get well.  We can't wait for them to come out when she's all better and ready to chase a 2 year old around:)

Enjoy some pictures from our weekend.

Reese wants me to put as many bows as I can in her hair.  She's finally found the love of bows that her mommy has!

The Anheiser Busch Clysdales were at the Airshow. Reese loved the horses.

My friend Brandy and us standing in front of a Hurricane Hunter plane.

Reese really enjoyed watching the planes, as you can see from her excitement.

Reese also enjoyed running a lot. We left the airshow with quite a few scratches and yes, there was some blood.

A 20 week pregnancy picture.  It might not look like much but trust me, it is. Those maternity jeans are already very uncomfortable.  Take a look below, this is a picture of me at 20 weeks when I was pregnant with Reese.  They aren't kidding when they say the 2nd pregnancy is very different.  Those jeans I'm wearing...still my regular jeans!

A weekly update. 03/27/2009

What a week we've had.  What started out as a pretty mellow week, quickly turned more...eventful.  Thursday, Bonnie, my mother in law, was admitted to the ICU.  The doctors aren't really sure what is going on with her. She's sedated and on a venilator.  Tomorrow they are planning on taking her off the venilator and making sure that everything stays stable with her.  Just remember Bonnie in your prayers.

Then today, Reese started throwing up.  Fortunately she only threw up twice, but was pretty puny all day.  It was actually a pretty nice day considering she was sick.  It thunderstormed all day, so we got into bed and watched a few movies under the covers, it was nice to have a lazy day!  I'm just praying that Dave and I don't get the bug.  I have had 5 stomach bugs in less than a year, PLEASE, I do not want another one!

Reese amazes me more and more everyday.  She knows almost all her abc's, I think that's pretty impressive for not even being two yet!  Or maybe thats the average, I have no idea.  Needless to say, she loves, loves, loves her books.  She spends at least a solid hour a day flipping through her books and reading them outloud. It's cute because she will say what I saw on certain pages and point out animals, or colors that I make a point to show her.  She watches EVERYTHING I do.

I'm feeling so much better.  I'm 19 weeks and showing a little.  I can still hide it. No pictures yet, not until they are pregnant looking worthy.

Dave turns 34 on Wednesday.  I keep forgetting it's almost his birthday. Maybe because he never makes a big deal about it.  He's deciding if he wants me to whip something up for dinner or if were going out.  I'm planning on making him a homemade Tirimasu for his cake.

Reese turns two next month. I cannot believe we have had her for two years.  It has been two of the most amazing, challenging and blessed years of my life:)  Can't wait for baby number two to add to the joy.

Here are a few pictures from our week.  I lost over 200 pictures on the camera somehow, so there are some cute ones that I won't be able to post.  These are pretty cute thought.

Enjoy!

We decided to enjoy some bubbles one night after dinner.  Reese had so much fun trying to catch them.

Notice, even when playing outside, she must always have a book in hand.

It's taken almost two years for her to take a bubble bath. Bubbles freaked her out...until this week, we had a break through!

My two sleeping beauties.  Notice Dave FAR away on the other side of the bed.  He doesn't find Agnes and her sleeping habits cute like I do.  And I did not pose her, she really sleeps with her head on the pillow.

Yes, I am very aware her outfit doesn't match.  It turned chilly outside so we had to do what we had to do.

Playdough time. Well, Reese doens't really play with it. She has me roll it into balls and then she puts them in a row.

The calm before the storm this morning.  And of all the mornings, she had blueberries.  Yeah, purple all over EVERYTHING today.

Reese lying in her sick bed.  I put her next to the treadmill. She read books and watched shows and I ran. Gotta make the most out of every minute!

No matter how sick, you can always pick up a book and read!  And I must say, Agnes was a wonderful nurse. Did not leave her side, although she did do a little napping on the job.  It's tiring taking care of sick people!!

Last weekend myself and 10 other ladies took a nice weekend trip to Destin.  All of our husbands work together, these are the same group of friends I went to New Orleans with a few months ago.

The husbands were all off on Friday, so we left at 8am friday morning. It's about a 3 hour drive to Destin.  We stayed at a great Hilton resort, right on the beach.  The beach was beautiful. Of course, anyone that knows me, knows I am not a beach person. I did go down to the beach for about an hour the first day we got there.  The sand was so soft and white and the water was so blue. Very different from the beaches here. We have so much Katrina leftovers at the beaches here.

We had a great time shopping at the outlets, eatting LOTS of food and checking out a little town called Seaside. You might know this town from the Jim Carrey movie, The Truman Show, where it was filmed.

Dave did awesome with Reese, as usual. He was even able to fit in a poker game friday night with all the other hubbies and kids.  I really would love to have been a fly on the wall to see what was going on in that home.

Dave also took Reese to a bbq festival in the town next to us, she rode a pony for the first time and loved it.  And they made it to church bright and early on sunday morning.  He's such a great dad.  I think Reese really enjoyed getting to spend a whole weekend with just her daddy.

Enjoy a few pictures from the weekend.

As you can see, I was really ready for the beach in a long sleeve shirt, leggings and a towel. It actually was really chilly.

Reese, with her souveniers (two books, Ramone from Cars, and a Nemo postcard) I brought back. Of course, her favorite was the dollar Finding Nemo postcard from the hotel giftshop. Go figure.

I just wanted to give a birthday shout out to my girl Agnes! She turns the big "5" today.  I really cannot believe we have already had her five years.  She represents so much for me.  Dave bought her for me 2 weeks before our wedding day.  Agnes has been with us from the very beginning.  She is what kept me sane during our first year of marriage when Dave was gone on trips 9 months out of the year. I knew absolutely noone in Delaware and this little puppy forced me to get out of the house, take her on walks and kept me feeling like I wasn't all alone.

Yes, there are days that Agnes just about sends me to the edge of sanity.  I can't imagine my life without my little puff ball right at my heels.  I guess what they say is true, a dog is a mans best friend.

I love you Agnes Marie and hope you have AT LEAST 10 more years on this planet to make our family what it is!  I love you!!

It hs been a long time since I updated the blog. I know, I'm BAD at this, but I'm really trying. I'm sure everyone that lives so far away from us, which is a lot of you, would like to know what happens in our oh so exciting everyday world.  So here is another attempt at blogging!!  Hopefully I keep up a little better.  I'm trying...

Life is good for us. Reese is 22 months old. Talks like crazy, is such a sweet girl. Loves to give you hugs and kisses when you least expect it. Right now she is into anything having to do with cars. She will literally spend all day playing with her cars. She is not interested in baby dolls or anything of that nature. If you ask her if she wants to hold her baby doll, she quickly tells you "NO".

She is so good natured. We go to the gym every morning and she loves going to the childcare and playing with the kids. When I pick her up she cannot wait to show me what she has been playing with. Not to mention, she always greets me with a running hug and kiss, so nice! She is my little sidekick.

Daves job is still wonderful. It is a dream job, home every night and every other friday off. We are so blessed here. I have to brag a little bit about him. Yesterday in the mail, we received his SECOND official masters degree in finance. I am so proud of him. He is such a go getter! Good job Dave!!

I am still staying busy with Reese and all the activities that come along with her. I have made some really great friends here. Sadly, a few of them will be leaving in the next few months. Unfortunately, that is a part of being in the military. But I am sure we will stay friends forever.

Other exciting news that everyone knows about. We are expecting baby number two August 23. We are very exited. It was a very long road getting here and I am so thankful to be pregnant, even when I have a pounding headache and absolutely no energy left for Reese or Dave...or Agnes:) I am 15 weeks along and feeling much better now that I'm in the second trimester. We should find out the sex of the baby in about three weeks. We cannot wait!! I have a gut feeling it's a girl, Dave is pulling for a boy and Reese...well, she's in denial:)

I've uploaded a couple recent pictures of Reese having fun around the house. She now loves getting her picture taken. Right after I take the picture, she has to come and look at the picture in the camera. I have NO idea where she gets that from:)

Enjoy the pictures and hopefully there will be another update much sooner than later.

Reese' Valentines Day present, along with a few books of course. I just threw the balloon out lastnight.  That is a gift that keeps on giving.

Well, she is still really into dancing and hanging from the handles of the treadmill...set to music of course.  Scary!

Lining up the cars.  The minute she wakes up she starts talking about her cars.

Enjoying a hearty, healthy breakfast.

THE Cars racetrack.

Lining up more cars.

Playing with daddy.

Happy New Year! 01/22/2009

So it has been a really long time since I have updated the blog.  There are three drafts sitting here in attempts to update and never finished.  I am determined to get this blog posted!

A quick update...In early December, we went to Ft. Worth and spent about 2 weeks at my grammys house. Dave had a simulator to do and we had an 80th birthday party for a spunky, not a day over 30 acting, grandmother.  Reese and I were very pampered and enjoyed being spoiled by grammy, who wouldn't??

We had a great Christmas. We went out to San Diego and spent the holiday with Daves family.  The weather was incredible, of course, it's California.  Reese had so much fun playing with her cousins, Zach and Sydney.  They are so great with her.  Reese was showered with presents, which included lots and lots of Elmo.  He hangs the moon in her eyes!

This past weekend I went out to NYC to spend a long weekend with two of my very close friends.  It was such a wonderful weekend.  Of course, no trip would be complete without getting a stomach bug...within the first 2 hours of getting to NYC.  Yes, my first full day was spent in the bed, not outside in the city!  We made up for it though.  My bestfriend Carrie, came into the city for the weekend and the three of us, Brandy, Carrie and myself, tromped around the city, doing lots of eatting, talking and laughing.  We were also able to celebrate Carries birthday on sunday.  I'm so happy I was there for her special day.  I miss you girls both so much.  I'

Thanksgiving. 11/29/2008

We had a really nice Thanksgiving.  We didn't go anywhere, I think this is the first time, ever, that we didn't go somewhere to spend it with our families.  We had a nice leisure morning and then headed out for lunch at Mary Mahoneys.  This is a well known french restaurant in Biloxi.  We were both a little nervous about taking Reese because it is a nice restaurant. We did know that on Thanksgiving it is more kid friendly.  I'm happy to say, she did awesome.  She sat like a big girl, ate lots of green beans, fed her toys wine from our glasses and really enjoyed the bread pudding at the end.

After lunch, we took Reese to see Madagascar 2, her first movie at a theatre.  She did amazing, she did not make a sound and watched the entire movie, including previews.  We were so impressed!

It was such a great day, just our little family.  I am so thankful for my great husband and for my healthy and happy little girl.  Of course, I am also thankful for all of my family and friends, I hope your Thanksgiving was just as special.

Enjoy a few pictures from our day.

Attempting to get a family picture.

If Reese had it her way, this would be the family picture, she wanted just she and Agnes on the couch.

Notice who is missing?  And notice Daves smile is larger than life?

Outside Mary Mahoneys.

Having Thanksgiving lunch.  Reese was such a good girl!

Running like a wild thing after lunch.

A man commented that "someone must really like stripes", I have no idea what he's talking about!

Outside the theatre...yes, we pretty  much had the place to ourselves!

As I mentioned in my earlier post, while I was away in New Orleans, Dave and Reese traveled back in time to a Renassiance fair in Mobile, Alabama.  Enjoy!

Enjoying the petting zoo.

Ok, so notice Reese is standing BEHIND a horse.  I just about had a heart attack when Dave showed me this picture.

Teaching Reese about belly dancing at a young age.

I'm very impressed with Dave for venturing out with Reese while I was away.  Not a lot of men would head 45 minutes away to a festival, alone, with their one year old.  He's a brave soul.  The only thing that he'll need to work on for next time is...remembing a bow:)
